We are a small, family-run farm in the high desert of northern Nevada near Elko. Our farm hands include my husband, Bob, myself (Tandy Camacho), my eldest son, Jeremy, and his family, Natalie, and Asia. Although I handle most of the farm management and day to day care of the alpacas myself, everybody, even 3 year-old Asia, helps with the day to day chores that come with a busy farm.
We all agree that this lifestyle has been very rewarding. It gives us time together as a family and gives us the opportunity to work together to complete projects that need doing. Each of us gets the chance to participate in promoting and expanding our business by coming up with marketing ideas, ways to educate the public about alpacas, and even deciding what animals to keep for future breedings.
Raising and caring for alpacas has proven to be a very rewarding experience and we plan to be around for many more successful years.
We are proud of our herd and the advancements we make each year as our cria crop produces more closely to the Ideal Alpaca Community (IAC) vision of the perfect alpaca.
I am a certified Camelidynamics Handler. All of our animals are handled and trained in the Camelidynamics way.
We have several cria and adult alpacas ready to sell at competitive prices.
High Desert Alpacas supports the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). A portion of every alpaca sale is donated to CFF to support research to help find the cure.
